Permanent Tooth Gems

Permanent tooth gems are the same appearance and designs as semi-permanent tooth gems. The procedure however is slightly different and more harmful to the tooth and enamel. Always seek advice from a professional dentist before making any decision.

What are Permanent tooth gems?
Tooth Gems are a Permanent or semi-permanent fashion statement. Tooth Gems are stuck on to one tooth to give a sparkle when you smile.
Tooth Gems come in different colours, sizes and styles and can last up to 1 month, maybe longer so before you have it done insure the adhesive can be reversed so it comes off when you want it to.
Salons use professional adhesive that can last longer than home kits. The staffs have usually been professionally trained so ask to see their qualification before having the procedure.
Before going ahead with a permanent tooth gem
Have a semi-permanent one fitted first to insure you are 100% happy with the result. Permanent tooth gems are permanent because they are drilled in a cove in the tooth, this means that if it does happen to be removed the tooth may become damaged and have a slight hole where it has been indented.

Are Permanent teeth gems Safe?
Tooth gems can either be applied just on top of the enamel so if applied properly they are completely safe. The only side effect you should experience is on removal.
After removing the gem there may be some left over adhesive on your teeth, this should come off eventually if it has not come off after around two weeks go see a professional dentist to ask for a solution.
However if on application you opted for the gem to be fitted securer in a cove the tooth may become damaged ask your dentist for all the facts before having the procedure done.
